Sun-dried tomato & feta cheese muffins -Montessori style

These delicious muffins are the perfect bite for your children. The savory flavor of the sun-dried tomato and feta cheese make a delicious combination. You can make them in a regular muffin-sized for lunch or tiny bite-size for a snack.

You can download the picture recipe for your children. There is a step by step explanation about ingredients and sequencing to follow.

Sun-dried tomato & feta cheese muffins


  • You can prepare in advance all ingredients measured out and ask your children to add them one by one for you.

  • Explain to your children that we need to take turns, and that everyone will have the opportunity to participate in adding ingredients.

  • Invite your children to participate adding all ingredients.


  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup feta cheese

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup sun-dried tomato 

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 cup water


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F / 180 °C and prepare an oiled muffin tin.

  2. Invite your children to combine flour and baking soda into a large bowl.

  3. Invite your children to add feta cheese, cheddar cheese, sun-dried tomato, egg, vegetable oil, and water into the large bowl.

  4. Let your children to stir until batter is blended.

  5. Invite your child to scoop mixture into muffin tin.

  6. Bake for 30 min or until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. 

  7. Let cool for 10 min, serve and enjoy with your children.
